Arboretum Announces Plans for Permanent
Installation of Nature's Gallery Court

Nature's GalleryThe Nature's Gallery ceramic mosaic mural is a stunning work of art composed of over 140 tiles hand-crafted by UC Davis students, staff, faculty, and community members. Each tile showcases a drought-tolerant plant or associated insect found in the Arboretum's Ruth Risdon Storer Garden.

Since its creation in 2007, Nature's Gallery has been showcased to rave reviews at the United States Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C., and the UC Davis Centennial Pavilion at the California State Fair.  Now, this dramatic work is ready to come home for permanent installation in the west end of the Arboretum.

The mural will emerge as the prominent focal point for an inviting tree-lined courtyard to be created between the UC Davis Arboretum's Storer Garden and the Teaching Nursery. Beyond its distinction as a beautiful new entry feature to the Arboretum's west end, Nature's Gallery Court will also serve as an integral part of the Arboretum's interdisciplinary youth and adult education programs.

The Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum invite community members to be a part of making this special project happen through tile dedications and other gift opportunities. Please forward this email or share information about this unique project with friends and colleagues who may be interested. To learn more, please visit: http://arboretum.ucdavis.edu/special_giving_opportunities.aspx
