 Sacramento River Valley District Celebrates 75 years of service!
August 6, 2009 -- Celebrating 75 years of service to our area The SRVD serves the counties of Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, and Yolo. Sacramento River Valley District is an all volunteer service organization and was organized in 1934. As a member of the California Garden Clubs, Inc, Pacific Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc. and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. umbrella our District,has 865 members 20 clubs, 2 affiliates, and 7 Youth Groups. Members of the Sacramento River Valley District are already among the most green, best-informed, ecologically-minded stewards of our environments. Even though we all live in varied microclimates, and we have learned to accommodate our personal gardening cultures accordingly, we compost, we mulch, we rotate crops, we irrigate carefully, we're mindful of the materials
we apply. It matters to us what happens to our Earth, because in our gardens we find satisfaction. We love our gardens, no matter how extravagant, no matter how humble. Naturally, we're going to do our best to improve it, to continue to "grow greener and smarter".

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FOLSOM GARDEN CLUB October 15th, 2009 Congratulations to the Folsom Garden Club which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this fall~ with a big event on October 15th! And we're all invited! At 10 a.m. |
Yup, it coincides with our District Meeting, but if a representative from each club could attend their party, while you come to the District Meeting, wouldn't that be swell?
75 is a big deal. And Anna Lombard, who is coordinating their celebration, would love to hear from each club that thinks they might have someone in the party mood that day~ she wants to be certain that there are seats and refreshments for all.

The party will be held at their meeting place (the Rotary Clubhouse) in Folsom at 7150 Baldwin Dam Road, Folsom, 95760.
